TRIPPING MINISTRY

Our Tripping Ministry is open to church members and non-members. We have a number of trips planned for adults of all ages. These include one day, two days, and longer. The dates and descriptions are listed here. Applications for each trip may be picked up at the desk in our Family Life Center. If you have any questions, please call the Recreation Office at 615-831-5627 and talk to Bill or Kim for assistance.



2017 Upcoming Trips


July 29, 2017 - Miss Patties' and the Badgett Playhouse in Grand Rivers, Kentucky

While is may be hot outside, we have a cool day planned for you.  We will travel up to Miss Patties' in Grand River, Kentucky for a fabulous lunch, and then walk across the street to the Badgett Playhouse for a delightful musical show.  The cost, including transportation, lunch and playhouse tickets is $70.00 per person.


August 12, 2017 - Cumberland County Playhouse - "Sister Act"

$45.00 per person

We will leave the Strasser parking lot at 8:30am. We will travel to Crossville, TN to Cumberland Mountain State Park for lunch before we see the play "Sister Act" at the playhouse. The cost includes trasportation, lunch and a playhouse ticket. This play is based on the 1992 hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg.


August 26,  2017- Nashville Sounds baseball game -

$30.00 per person

What a night we have planned for you! The Nashville Sounds will be hosting the Round Rock Express and a Christian music concert before the game.  We will leave the Strasser parking lot at 5:30 pm.  The cost includes transportation,  a reserved seat for the game, the pre-game concert, and baseball bucks for a hot dog and drink.  Bring the whole family and join in this great eveing of baseball, music, food and fun.


September 29 - October 9, 2017:  10 Day London to Paris Europe Trip


Visit England, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and France with overnights in London, Brussels, the Frankfurt area, the Innsbruck area, the Venice area, the Lucerne area, Dijon and Paris.


Day 1 - Arrive in London, England

Check into your hotel.  Uniformed hosts are available to help you make the most of your stay.


Day 2 - London

A full day to savor our rich program of optional activities:  take a panoramic tour of London's landmarks, visit the Tower of London, or choose an excursion to Windsor Castle.  Tonight, how about a leisurely cruise on the Thames River.


Day 3 - London-Brussels, Belgium

Head through the lush English countryside to the Channel port, where you board your ferry for the Continent.  Here your Tour Director and comfortable coach wait to take you to Belgium for an orientation drive and an overnight.


Day 4 - Brussels-Rhine Cruise, Germany-Frankfurt Area

Journey into Germany to the shores of the mighty Rhine to enjoy a scenic cruise.  Then on to the Frankfurt area for an overnight.


Day 5 - Frankfurt Area-Romantic Road-Innsbruck Area, Austria

Today's highlight is a drive along the Romantic Road, through towns and villages with medieval towered gates and battlements, squares of half-timbered houses, and richly decorated fountains.  Spend some time in the center of Rothenberg before heading to the Innsbruck area for an overnight.


Day 6 - Innsbruck Area-Brenner Pass-Venice Area, Italy

Take in the  breathtaking scenery of the Alps while crossing the Europa Bridge and Brenner Pass.  Arrive in Venice, where a boat ride along the Giudecca Canal to Piazza San Marco allows your to admire the palazzos and maze of streets.  Time at leisure to soak up the magical atmosphere of this unique city.  At a glassblowing workshop, experience this Venetian art.


Day 7 - Venice Area-Verona-Lucerne Area, Switzerland

Stop in fascinating Verona and see Juliet's legendary balcony.  Cross the Swiss border and enjoy the idyllic views of Canton Ticino, then descend to the breathtaking beauty of Lake Lucerne.


Day 8 - Lucerne area-Dijon, France

Your visit this morning focuses on the Old Town in the heart of Lucerne.  also, there's time for an optional excursion to Mount Stanserhorn.  In the afternoon, journey into France for an overnight in the charming town of Dijon.  This evening dine at a local restaurant.


Day 9 - Dijon, Paris

Leave Dijon and travel on the autoroute to Paris, where included sightseeing with a local expert shows you many of the best-known Paris sites.


Day 10 - Paris

Au revoir - your vacation ends with breakfast this morning.


The cost for this great adventure is $3,670.00 per person based on double occupancy with a $514.00 supplement for a single.  A $100.00 deposit is required with registration.  The trip includes, Air fare, Gratuities, Transfers, Travel Protection, Breakfast Daily and four Dinners.  Air prices are based on an estimate.



September 23, 2017 - A Stroll through History:  The James K. Polk Estate, Rippa Villa and Puckett's General Store

The James K. Polk Estate is his only surviving residence besides the White House and is one of the best examples of Federal-style architecture in Tennessee.  Here you will see his original furnishings, paintings, clothing and White House china. Adjacent to the home are the gardens, the kitchen, his sisters' house, the museum and the Polk Presidential Hall which contains artifacts concerning his presidency.  We'll travel to the famous Puckett's General Store for lunch.  After lunch we'll visit Rippa Villa for a tour of this beautiful 1850's Greek Revival style mansion and the 98 acres it rests on.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the mansion is stunning and fully restores, complete with family antiques, heirlooms and Civil Ware artifacts.  Cost for the day, including transportation, tickets to the Polk Estate, Rippa Villa and lunch is $50.00 per person.




October 20-21, 2017 -  A Visit to the Creation Museum and the Life-Size

Noah's Ark  -SOLD OUT

This overnight trip is nothing like you have ever experienced! The Creation Museum covers 75,000 square feet of biblical history, stunning exhibits, botanical gardens, a planetarium and much more. Here you'll learn about the different types of science and discover facts ad logical arguments you might have never considered.  When you start with the Bible as your ultimate authority, your mind is unlocked and ready to discover creation science.  Walk through biblical history as you explore the stunning Garden of Eden, Noah's Ark, and the Tower of Babel.


We'll spend the night in Cincinnati and then travel to Williamstown, Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter.  Here we'll walk the Bible directed, full size ark, the largest timber-frame structure in the world and enjoy it's world-class exhibits.  You'll learn how Noah took care of the approximately 7,000 animals on board and how the ark was structured to house all of them.


Cost for this trip is $150.00 per person based on double occupancy and includes:  transportation, tickets to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter, hotel and breakfast on Saturday morning.
